This course aims to help students understand the basics of information systems and their roles in contemporary organizations.


Course objectives
  • To learn how information systems are used in contemporary organizations
  • To appreciate the strategic importance of information systems for organizations
  • To understand the different information systems in a typical business organization, such as enterprise resource planning, customer relationship management systems, and e-commerce. In particular, to understand the unique principles of the economics of e-commerce and their implications for e-commerce
  • To understand the basic concepts of big data and business analytics. In particular, to understand the basic techniques of business analytics.
