Biography

Yasir Dewan received his Ph.D. in Organization and Strategy from Tilburg University, the Netherlands. His primary research interests seek to understand the dynamics of punishment for corporate misconduct. Observing that some corporations are punished more for their misconduct and others less, Yasir Dewan’s work demonstrates the role of social status, scandal, and political ideology in determining the extent of punishment. More generally, Yasir Dewan is interested in understanding the heterogeneity of audience reactions to corporate misconduct and how this heterogeneity leads to unjust outcomes in the society as well as serves a precursor to the lack of stability of the social system. Finally, Yasir Dewan’s teaching interests include sin industries, corporate strategy, and cross-cultural management. He currently teaches the Strategic Management core course in the Grande Ecole program.
